Judgements.

It has been highly alarming for me of late, in witnessing how easy it is for Man to judge.

When you see, feel, hear or smell something new, we are not taking a step back and thinking “…..hmm how interesting, that’s new”, instead we either like it or hate it on most occasions. And usually what’s alarming is that we are not really making that judgement, our experience (or lack of it), the society we associate with and our environment are making that judgement for us. And to make matters worse, we persistently argue that ‘we’ are the one’s in control of our decisions/feelings.

I am astonished of how little, Man wonders. He does not ponder and entertain ideas outside of what he calls ‘important’. If he wants to become wealthy, all money matters will suddenly be seen as most important.  If he he wants a wife, you’ll see him at speed dating, clubs and pubs and rarely in his home. Each one of us is different but most of us have stopped learning, without realising it.

I wish of being alongside Dr. Johnson, and telling him “Look, dude, you need to leave out words like Weird, Strange, Odd and the like, because these will be the barriers that will stop Mankind learning of the new, the different and the exotic”.

Where is that time machine? when you need one.
